New-Life for a new life

THE Philippines is a fast-rising medical tourism destination. According to the US Medical Tourism Association magazine, this services sub-sector in the Philippines grew 8 percent in 2007 and was expected to grow even more. Many hospitals here have been given international accreditation.

Still, not many Filipinos are open to the idea of cosmetic surgery. With a culture of accepting what God has given, many do not seek to improve their looks, especially surgically.

Surgical results without the surgeon. Reshaping your body, your way, on your terms. These and more are the promises of a non-invasive treatment called New-Life.

“If you’ve ever thought about cosmetic surgery but were put off by the pain, expense and length of recovery time, you should know about New-Life,” says Dra. Jean Marquez, a trained, licensed and experienced dermatologist.

New-Life uses innovative B.E.A.M. technology to stimulate and activate specific muscles or muscle groups. The technology imitates the body’s natural pulses which cause muscles to contract. The contracted muscle folds into itself, becoming smaller, stronger, and more defined. By stimulating muscle activation, blood circulation increases, metabolism improves, and the body is toned exactly as one desires.

But, New-Life is not just a beauty treatment. It is for circumferential reduction, body contouring and slimming, face lifting and skin tightening, breast and buttocks lifting, lymphatic drainage, acupuncture and pain relief. All with no recovery time.

“Simply walk in and walk out with great looking results from the very first treatment. New-Life shows immediate results, as I say, treatment by day, party by night. It is safe, non-invasive and with no side effects. It is effective and clinically proven to activate and tighten muscles. It is fast, a full skin treatment is done in 3 to 4 weeks. And most importantly, it is enjoyable, comfortable and relaxing, like a day at the spa,” explains Dr. Marquez, founder and owner of The Skin Specialist Clinic.

The New-Life facial treatment feels like a refreshing massage while the body treatment feels an intense workout at the gym without the pain and sweat.

“After a typical treatment of 30 to 60 minutes, muscles in the face and body feel immediately stronger and loose skin noticeably tighter. Each treatment activates a different muscle group to give your body a complete workout. A series of 6 to 12 sessions is recommended for lasting results. Just three treatments a week will give you a younger and healthier look in less than four weeks,” shares Dr. Marquez.

You do not need a surgeon to change your life. You just need New-Life to have a new life–one that will make you confident, content and beautiful.

Herculane Spa topping priorities of health tourism development strategy

Bucharest : (AGERPRES).

The Herculane spa ranks first in the country’s strategic plan for the development of health tourism, Minister-delegate for SMEs, Business Environment and Tourism Maria Grapini declared recently while on a visit to the resort lying on the Cerna river (south-west of Bucharest).

Spa tourism is the major priority in the government’s tourism strategy, followed by cultural tourism and ecotourism.

“I am about to take tough measures. Whoever committed to buying here must observe this pledge, for whoever doesn’t I would suggest we should go as far as seizing property. There are historic buildings here that can berefurbished and brought to their former shape. I’ll personally see which investor left these buildings in this derelict state. The property right will be respected, but taking after European models we will oblige these people to relinquish them if they do not have the necessary material resources,” said Minister-delegate Maria Grapini.

The Minister of Tourism considers that it is unacceptable for an area with tourism potential above EU average and one-of-a-kind objectives to go unattended. For this reason, the historic buildings in Herculane will be restored and re-commissioned so that the spa gets back to its former glory and the Romanians draw a double benefit, as tourists, but also an economic advantage.

“If we develop, we will collect higher incomes. The spa’s condition is far worse compared to the years before 1990. The springs and buildings are mostly damaged. They say the state is a poor manager, but here in Herculane the buildings are privately owned and are in an equally bad condition,” Grapini said.

The Tourism Minister blamed the local government for failing to find the legal means to compel the guilty.

According to Herculane mayor Nicusor Vasilescu, the most urgent works are related to water and sewer infrastructure and the revamping of streets.

The Minister of Tourism visited the hotels Dacia and Domogled, the Roman Hotel, the Neptune Baths and the Afrodita Hotel, the latter being completely renovated and modernized as a European-standard treatment facility.

NCIA To Explore Untapped Medical Tourism Market

Bukit  Mertajam , (Bernama) :

The Northern Corridor Implementation Authority (NCIA) is exploring the untapped medical tourism market in order to take the sector to greater heights.

Its chief executive, Datuk Redza Rafiq said the authority was always looking for ways to expand the health tourism sector as there was already a complete ecosystem in the northern region.

“We have a fantastic group of industry players that help us to grow and continue to innovate as well as evolved by adding greater range of services,” he told reporters after officiating the new physiotherapy centre, LivingWell Physio Centre, at Penang Adventist Hospital (PAH), here today.

Also present was PAH chief executive officer Dr Wesley Toh.

Redza said it was crucial for the supporting industries to grow in line with the expansion of orthopaedic, medical devices and wound care management amid the rising electrical and electronics industry.

He said there was greater demand for medical tourism as more people especially in Asia seek quality medical treatment due to increasing levels of affluence, urbanisation and life expectancy.

“We are in the Asian century and they have the spending power especially the generation Y in China, India and Indonesia. It was an untapped market we (NCIA) are exploring now,” Redza said.

On PAH’s new physiotherapy centre, Redza said it was one of the services that should be expanded under health tourism segment as it was a follow through medical service.

He said the initiative by PAH would contribute to NCIA’s target of creating 8,000 jobs and RM10 billion in private sector investments for this year.

NCIA has been collaborating closely with PAH on a few projects since last year to move the Penang health sector to greater heights

PAH is the second largest contributor to Penang health tourism, contributing 25 per cent of the total foreign patient arrivals in the state last year.

In 2012, a total of RM89.5 million in revenue was generated from 81,031 foreign patients.

Redza said the opening of LivingWell Physio Centre was timely as 20 per cent of PAH’s existing patients come from Bukit Mertajam and the surrounding areas.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Arnaldo Brown, says discussions are advanced with nationals abroad for health tourism projects in the island

Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Arnaldo Brown, says discussions are advanced with nationals abroad for health tourism projects in the island

The Jamaican Diaspora is expected to play a key role in the development of health tourism in the island.

Minister of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Hon. Arnaldo Brown, said that discussions are far advanced with nationals abroad for the realization of health tourism projects in the island.

Already, Cabinet has approved the construction of a US$200 million medical facility in St. James, which will be spearheaded by the Diaspora.

Speaking at a recent JIS Think Tank, the Foreign Affairs State Minister said that health is “one of the areas that the Diaspora is strongest in”.

He noted that nationals abroad have made significant contributions to the health sector through various means, including medical missions, and the donation of equipment to hospitals and other facilities.

He informed that there were 132 medical missions to Jamaica in 2012 and 135 in 2011, many of which were spearheaded by the Diaspora.

Mr. Brown said that there is an established process to allow for the smooth movement of medical equipment into the country, noting that there is a drive to donate 1,000 blood pressure machines to medical facilities in the island.

The State Minister told JIS News that a team of Canadian health professionals visited Jamaica in March, and conducted an audit of hospitals to see what equipment and furnishings were needed, and they are putting containers together to address those needs.

He informed that he also met with officials at the Sony Brook Hospital in Canada, during a recent visit to the country, where discussions focused on donations, training, and the sharing of knowledge and information.
